Hi.

For various reasons (I convinced myself that) I needed a smaller delay pedal.

Liked the look / specs / demos of this, and a tape emulation with some variations of the virtual tape heads seemed kinda cool and fun to mess with.

And, it was dead cheap on Amazon Japan. The equiv. of US$65.23 / £52.79 / €60.07.

I’m including a screenshot I lifted from a YouTube demo / review. For educational fair use... :) It shows the different delay patterns in a nice visual way.

So far, it’s been fun. Quite bright. I knew that going in - quoting Fender: “Enter a world of ringing delay possibilities …this shimmering sound...” But still, quite bright. I’ll get used to that, no doubt.

I really dig the knobs. They just seem so easy to grab - no orientating your hand to odd shapes and their size is just right for gripping on to, and the shape / size leaves plenty of space between them.

Credit where due, the screenshot above is from the first video linked below, from Pair of Pandas. I don’t really agree with their conclusion, that the Flamma delay is a better choice - in that I don’t want complicated or ‘more’ features, and also, the Flamma is actually more expensive here. I quite liked the other demo, in the second link below.

Hi.

But, what about purple, for that purple fuzz haze for daze...? :)

I quite like the look (& sound) of this actually. Seems versatile.

Yeah, that one. Disgusting! :)
Looks like someone wearing dirty old sweats with some "flair" to distract people.

Haven't heard it though. If it did what I wanted, who cares what color it is? I'll have to give it a listen.

I got a Hammertone Fuzz and think it’s awesome. I haven’t heard any others but the whole line seems to be well-designed. Pro features for budget prices. I’ll probably buy more.

Internal Trim pots for vibrato depth and speed 🤮🤮🤮🤮

That was ultimately the reason I got rid of my MXR Carbon Copy. Sometimes I want just a tiny bit of movement. Sometimes I want seasick warbles. Can't flip the pedal over and use a tiny screw driver between songs to make that adjustment. And what works as a solo player is not the same as playing with a band. The sound of the CC was amazing. But I ended up with a LovePedal EPH-3 tape echo that has a big ol' Flutter knob right on top where it should be.

My question is: Will this scratch my itch for a Space Echo Reissue? Because damn...I have almost pulled that trigger several times but the cost is hard to accept for what is yet another delay pedal.

I liked the one-repeat mid length delay with modulation sound he played briefly in the demo video.

I don't have a delay that simulates multi tape head patterns. I'm thinking the brightness might be OK for my fat synth sounds and ultra-dense fuzz guitar.

Yes, you are observing me talking myself into buying one.

Yeah, I’d prefer them on the outside too. Like they are on my Mirror Image delay, also by Fender. But ultimately I’m not too concerned, as I’ve found over time all I want is a little warble and movement that I can switch in when I feel like it.*

But still, I get it that others might like more control. Maybe two wee mini pot knobs would have been possible, instead of the on/off mini toggle, and still kept things uncluttered and simple? Where you get ‘off’ by turning both to zero, and ‘on’ by setting them anywhere else.

In other news, I’m heading of to practice soon, and taking it for its first real world excursion (and my newish Animals Pedal Sunday Afternoon Is Infinity Bender fuzz for, I think, its second outing).
