Been testing this out for about an hour. Really sweet. Sounds especially good with my telecaster and P90 Epi Special.

And here are my others. I’m obviously sticking with Chinese clones so far.

New rankings, obviously based a lot on personal preference. Chime in if you have any of these.
    1. The new guy. Could be partially novelty, but I don’t think so.
    2. Joyo Extreme Metal. Can be tweaked for a variety of tones, beyond just metal.
    3. Joyo Ultimate Drive. 70s arena rock reminiscent.
    4. Joyo Sweet Baby. The Focus knob is a very interesting tool.
    5. Joyo American Sound. Really more of an amp sim but I love it with single coils direct into the return of my effects loop.
    6. Joyo Vintage Overdrive. Nothing really to write home about. Kinda weak. Okay stacked with another.

Isn't the Vintage Overdrive supposed to be a tubescreamer clone?

Have or have had all of the above except the Extreme Metal
I never bonded with the Orange Burst but I love their Pure Sky, supposedly a Timmy clone.
I highly rate the Sweet Baby and the American Sound, I quite liked the Ultimate and Vintage as well but sold them to fund other stuff

808 clone. It’s just really quiet and a bit tinny for me.

Does it lack lower-mid bass or are the upper frequencies unpleasent?

More of the former. Plus, it’s hard to even get it to unity volume. It’s fine if I boost it with something (I usually run that Donner boost killer after it).

I really like my Orange Burst. The Pure sky is great too, but a little too polite for some of the stuff I play.

Sweet Baby is my favorite pedal for transparent or very slight coloration..it really works on the early Marshall's just to goose with out changing base tone

My favorite cheap distortion is the Caline English Man.

    Same question.

Been thinking about the Sweet Baby based on some reviews. It would be going along with a Lovepedal Deluxe (the 5E3 pedal) and a mostly clean Rocktron Austin Gold I've had for almost 20 years. I primarily play BF/SF type amps (Super Reverb, Princeton (nr) and VHT Special 6 which is based on BF Champs).

The Deluxe has all the heavy OD/distortion I need; I don't do high gain stuff. The Austin gold has a very little dirt but I use it primarily as a mostly clean boost.

    Thanks!

The ficus knob adds a woody shrubbery quality to the sound.

Joke. Focus knob adds gain and reduces bass as it's turned clockwise.

I was just experimenting. I was able to get about the same level of breakup with the gain all the way up on the Deluxe and all the way down on the Sweet Baby (not stacked, one at a time). That surprised me. Volume & gain maxed and they were similar with focus all the way to the left.

Hey, I've got a bunch of the pedals in your pic! We are truly lucky to live in these times, with so many great pedals around for so few dollars. And a lot of them are genuinely good.

Is it a good shrubbery? I like the laurels particularly,

Interesting. I had the impression the Sweet Baby had less gain/distortion. But, it still might work. I Like having two different volumes/types/levels of OD. I find two pedals is easier to get that than stacking an OD with a boost (stacking can still be used for over-the-top sounds). I just got my LovePedal Deluxe two or three weeks ago and it hasn't left the house yet. But I am having a lot of fun with it.

I've got the Sweet Baby, the Boost Killer, the American Sound, and the Ultimate Drive.

I agree, I only have the Pure Sky & it's so smooth & clear, I prefer it standalone..

I was seriously thinking about this pedal but have reached an impasse. Can it add dynamics into a clean amp/ tone, totally clean ?
I play clean to edge of breakup tones only & use fingerstyle/double stops. Trying to play jazz. I actually want to under-drive my amp i.e. feed a weaker signal & use an EQ pedal to do that.
Do you think this pedal can add pick sensitivity in this scenario?
    Thanks & much appreciated.

@TheTruth, imho, best to get an honest-to-goodness, true and tried, dynamic/pick sensitive OD. Those I've tried and had are Fulltone OCD, Skreddy Screwdriver Deluxe and Blackstone Mosfet OD. There must be others to choose from.

Apologies if my reply sidetracks the OP's topic.

The orange burst is a BB preamp. Tweaked tubescreamer. It's a nice circuit.

    Hey VegJoe!
I agree with you.. in fact the OCD was my first pedal ever & I'm using 'like' a cranked amp in front of the SS & then rolling the vol down for the cleans. This pedal means so much to me, it's almost sad.
I've read great things about the Skreddy & the Mosfet.. I can't get them here :/
I was thinking if the Joyo Sweet baby would help with anything..
    Thank you!!
