Professional whatever, its built by Biyang (AD-7) and was way over priced when new. Picked up this used one from GC today for just shy of two jacksons and it sounds really good - best delay I have heard at that price point, even if it is used.

What is interesting, at least to me is that it really tamed the highs in the amp, but in a very nice musical way - assuming this is what people like so much about the MXR Carbon Copy. This one definitely darkens the signal but it sounds really good.

These types of delays can be very easily used as a faux reverb; an always-on effect that adds "space" without getting into syrupy reverb territory.

Nice score, too. Akai is a legit company, and they had a few minor hits with instrument-type pedals many moons ago. Sounds like you got yourself a good one.

I don't want to rain on your parade bluesholyman, but I'm pretty certain that pedal uses a digital chip - PT2399 or similar. One of the chip's characteristics is its limited bandwidth, which means that it does a pretty good analog impression. Even the Mad Professor Deep Blue Delay is built round a PT2399!

Yep digital but with filtering. Sounds good though!
