I ordered one of the demo deals from Sweetwater a MXR Dyna Comp compressor and it arrived today. And I’m on my way to pick up my partscaster project guitar that I ordered..Bullet Tele. Exciting day for me today!

If only there were some way, maybe even a visual way to share the excitement and experience…

Haven’t picked up the Tele yet so as soon as I get it home, pictures will follow.

And a very much deserved post! I know I know! I should’ve learned my lesson by now! Pictures must always be included! Side story though, having truck issues do haven’t been able to go pick up the Tele yet. Figured I would go all the way tease and not only show half the gear!

    Without pictures you have sinned!

Ok so here are the pictures. So I was a little frustrated with the guitar however. Upon opening the clearly less than acceptable packaging, there was a good sized chip on the body. I did however contact a sales rep at MF and let them know. I really didn’t want to bother with sending the guitar off and wait for a new one, so they gave me a store credit. Besides, I was originally planning on pulling this thing apart and upgrading it anyway. So I made the decision I am going to do done sanding on it and do my own take of a “relic” type finish on it.

After I got home, swapped the strings out, and did a set up on it, I was actually REALLY surprised at how well this cheap guitar plays and sounds. The clean tones I’m getting from these pick ups are pretty shading to be honest. The neck as not thin but not chunky either. I really like the way it plays. Anyway....here’s the pictures of the new guitar and pedal.

Bullet Teles are great platforms. I got one on super-sale for $120, put about $60 of mods into it, and I've more than gotten my money back in enjoyment. The only complaint I had about it after a setup was the grittiness of the frets. They needed major polishing. Other than that, it was all go.

That's a nasty chip. I'd press whoever shipped it to knock something off the price. At least it's in a spot where it will look natural when you add some vintage wear and tear. Play the paint off it!

I haven’t played with it yet. This weekend I’ll get time to play with it and learn it.

MF gave me a credit on my account. So not necessarily price off the guitar, but a discount on my next purchase. I’m almost thinking I will not be changing out my pick ups.

    Fair enough.

I changed the neck pickup in mine, but only because I wanted a mini-humbucker there. Otherwise, I'd have happily kept it, as I did with the stock bridge pickup. Nothing wrong with'em at all, as long as folk understand they're not getting a $200 set of Twisted Tele or Texas Heat pickups in a $180 guitar.

I can honestly say it doesn’t bother me at all. I was over it in about 15 minutes. LOL! But it really is a blast to play!
