More concern of warranty. I play a ton though! I do stupid things, I confess.

    Thanks

No registration card? Uh oh.....it's probably a Chinese copy. ;)
Did you get a good (in your opinion) price?
Is it set up to your satisfaction? (mom and pop shops should do that at no added charge)
I'm surprised they charged even $25 for a non-Gretsch case.....IMHO that should have been included.
Contact Gretsch and see if it's ever been registered. If not....it's new.
BTW.....I can't see your pictures. Pics required! ;)

It's not a real expensive Gretsch, made in Indonesia. Excellent reviews, and the action is nice, no fret buzz. We did speak about setup.

You played it, you loved it, you bought it.
    Where's the problem?

I'm good to go everyone. No issues with price any longer, thanks to you. Will inquire about warranty though!

    Have a great weekend!

    Thank you!

If it’s been hanging on their wall for two years unsold, it’s still new. If they are the original dealer and unless it had been sold by them before, they’re not being deceptive and you bought a new guitar.

Check with Gretsch- I would not be surprised if they honor the warranty from the date of purchase rather than the date of manufacture. Other types of companies do that.

It's not that uncommon for a guitar in a shop, in particular not a huge chain store. Even 4 or 5 years old is not that rare.

If the guitar played, looked, and felt right, it wouldn't bother me one bit.

Either the build date matters or it doesn't. If you purchased it without verifying the date, then it didn't matter. NOS doesn't change the value of an instrument for me. However, I admittedly don't know anything about Gretsch guitar values. You might check with a Gretsch forum (if there is one) however, after the fact it's a bit irrelevant. It's yours now.

I wouldn't worry about it...call it NOS if you like. I have three Streamliner variants: 2420, 2420T-P90, and 2627T. They are each awesome guitars. None of them had warranty cards and very minimal (if any) paperwork. Enjoy!

Oh, what color did you get? There were some cool colors before 2019.

I just returned from the shop (had to pick up my amp from repair), he said they considered the Gretsch new, and I shouldn't have any issues with registration. I'm sure I'm okay.

Yes, I love the Gretsch, I have the Golddust. Just picked up new Grover Tuners today. A couple more minor mods and it'll be perfect.
Doing research, seems a few people have multiple ones as you do. I'm sure your P90's were a nice addition?

    Thanks

    I'm sure you're correct.

I'm good to go now, just freaked out a little.

    I laughed out loud! Hilarious!

You might check with a Gretsch forum

I tried to register this morning for Gretsch forum, something was buggy about their system, will try again today.

    Thanks!!

Wrong attitude my man.:) You got what sounds like a nice guitar and you helped the owners of a mom and pop music store. In these days of C-19 it's supremely necessary to help small businesses like that. Loans or no loans it's going to be rough going for a while.

You done good son. Now shut up and play :D

Btw, check out Gretsch's website. I think you'll find that a 2018 build will be no different than a 2020. Good stuff.

Mom and pop stores can't dump last year's stock at discounted rates to just get it out the door like the big retailers can. There's a local store here that new items are sold at new prices, whether they are new models or new five year old models. But when you buy a new older item, he'll tell you he'll guarantee it.

I hope you enjoy your new guitar.

The gold dust is a cool color! Mine are walnut, satin (?) wine red and Georgia green. My P90 has one at the neck with the Gretsch HB at the bridge...a different sound...fun for some tunes. Some do have 2 P90s. They are fun!

I helped them even more today, with the Grovers and my Deville repair. "I feel good" quoting Mr. James Brown.

What is the point? Does the 2020 have bluetooth or keyless entry?

It is a brand new guitar. You are the first owner and the warranty starts when you send in your card or register online.

In 2014 I bought a new 2013 model. In 2018 I bought a brand new 2016 model. In 2019 I bought a brand new 2015 model. I liked the guitars and I liked the features, so, once again -- what is your point?
