I was a 80s kid and I remember buying Van Halens debut album. It came out in 1978, I got it in 79. However the 80's hair metal shtick was as idiotic as hip hop is now. While I didn't know any better at the time, I was glad it ended. Some record company must have had this ready to go before they knew the greasy flannel shirt kids would win the day. Almost the last of the cheesy metal power ballads...Kid would have been big in 85, but he was late to the party. 1990. I was 21 then.
