Do I realize that I'm probably the only person on this forum that likes this? Sure do. But I don't see metal represented on here too often, so I figured I'd give it a shot. If people actually like this and it gets some interest, maybe I'll start posting some more songs/artists that have influenced me.

If anyone wants some doom/stoner/sludge or death metal stuff, I'm your guy.

I like it. What would you recommend for a fan of Fu Manchu, Clutch, the Sword and Corrosion of Conformity?

I think it does exactly what it's intended to do......irritate the HECK out of older musicians. I really try to relate to what our parents said about the Stones and The Kinks......and I just don't see it.

Sleep, Astral Mass (pretty much the stoner metal version of Clutch), Curse the Son, Elephant Tree, Church of Misery, maybe some Monolord as well.

You don't have to like it but the negativity isn't needed either. I put this thread up to teach people about the music that I play and care about. As a sanctuary for the people on here that enjoy the more extreme forms of metal, even. It's not made to "irritate the HECK" out of anyone. It's as valid of an art form as whatever you may like. Anyways, enough from me.

    Have a nice day/night. :)

It sounds like Black Sabbath and nirvana had a low octave baby. It's interesting but causes anxiety for me. Sort of like finger nails on a chalk board. The first song has a cool riff, the singer ruined it for me.

Sounds about right. A lot of doom/stoner/sludge bands are extremely influenced by Sabbath. There wasn't much of a scene for these guys out in the Cali Bay Area so they ran with crust and powerviolence bands back in the 90's.

Anyway, who doesn't love some power chords? Rock on!

Ya know... that first one is stuck in my head now!

these guys (in the gender non inclusive sense) are probably my favorite modern power violence, but i don't follow the genre all that closely.

further afield, i've been digging this band's mix of first wave black metal, death rock, and japanese hardcore:
