Ask them what they think about Daylight Savings Time. Oh they're all very quick to point out how they feel about that "lie".

I have eaten kangaroo. That might not be unusual for an Aussie, but most people don't believe me in the US.

There's a hamburger joint in Louisville that I go to a lot... simply called "Game". They have kangaroo burgers on the menu, along with ostrich, wild boar, several other exotic meats. I've tried them all, because... why not?

Still prefer basic 80/20 beef for a hamburger... over any of the other meats I've had, including high-end beef.

The army brought camels in an experiment to replace horses in the desert Southwest. Hopefully, this is an April fool's post. The snakehead, Asian carp, Burmese pythons and nutria rats are just a few examples of reasons why this is a bad idea.

We've got a Bison herd behind barriers, Shelby Farms Park, Shelby County (Memphis) Tennessee. But they're careful to avoid getting too close to people outside the fence.

By comparison you can pay $ 5 and drive your pickup or car through a herd of bison, plus elk and turkey in a fenced off area in the Land Between the Lakes National Park, between the Cumberland and Tennessee Rivers by the KY/TN state line. Get out of your car at your own peril.

We had a Sheriff in Jefferson Parish (part of New Orleans) who loved to shoot, and we had a nutra-rat problem. He'd personally want to be out there, shooting those nutria to try to control their numbers. (Somehow he could never defeat them entirely).

Funny thing was, when he left office, the new Sheriff (Normand) wasn't interested in that and the nutra-rats were quickly and for the forseeable future, done away with and the banks of the levees and suddenly in much better shape. Now we have Possums and regular rats instead. And recently, we're getting osprey - and that's cool.

Ahahaha...the ol' George Johnson prank, where one introduces domesticated sheep near a national monument that ends up killing bighorns and tops it off by bulldozing archaeoglogical sites...a real knee slapper! /s

Tell the Aussies in exchange they can have 200,000 wild hogs that currently run amok and destroy property in Texas and maybe they would be happy to send a container ship load and crew?
    Mmmm, 20,000 kangaroos huh.

    Do Aussies like bacon?
Not a trick question, hope I didn't miss some colloquial funny business!

For a few years I lived in an apt owned by the Savenors market family.
They had a real old time butcher shop and old Joe Savenor would stop by in his blood covered whites when the rent was late.
Julia Child was a famous customer because they sold fine meats and claimed they would get any meat you asked for including lion meat!
I did some repair work for him on an old family violin and he paid me in steaks...

My bother in law is a dairy farmer in Texas and told me as much. They will eat you alive he said. See what I'm getting at? Yes, kangaroo vs wild hog fights, for money. See, I'm always 'lightening up' :)
