Noise Suppressor Pedals

    I recently switched bands and have switched from Humbucker equipped guitars to using single coil pickup guitars with a fair amount of compression. After playing my first gig last night using my new Tele Select and my Gibson ES-295 with P-90s I've decided I need to do something about the 60 cycle hum. So far I'm looking at the ISP deciminator pedal and the Boss NS-2 pedals. I'm leaning towards the ISP. Does anyone have any experience with these pedals or have any other suggestions?

    I'm having the same problem. I considered on of these pedals, but I'm afraid at how much tone they will suck. After giving it some thought, I am thinking about getting some fender noiseless pickups. I don't know. I'd love to hear responses.....

    It covers this same issue pretty thoroughly. Seem the "Hum Debugger" is the latest and greatest item out there for this issue, and is my new Gotta Have It. I can't quite justify the cost right now but, maybe some day.

    For now my Boss NS-2 is doing the job.

    I have an NS-2 on my board, I've been happy enough with it for a long time.

    I have both the NS-2 and the ISP dec.

    The ISP is faster than the NS-2, and has no effect on
    tone that I can hear. It is also superior to the MXR noise gates.

    With a single coil Tele:

    I have the Decimator. It cuts out noise when you are not playing. But when you play, the noise will be there.

    I had the Hum Debugger. It affects tone, similar to shielding your pickups with copper. I traded it.
