My Player Tele is excellent. No regrets.

My avatar Telecaster is a MIM that’s served me well for 12 years. It’s been modified as my needs have changed but there was absolutely nothing wrong with it in its original condition. Enjoy your new Telecaster. For what it’s worth, you’ve made your commitment to a real Telecaster. Now play it and enjoy it.

Mine had the issue, not sure if it was widespread, as probably only a few were released from the Ensenada factory. There was another member on here who sent his back because it had that problem. I contacted Fender UK, and they were like, nothing we can do, contact your retailer.

Got a refund for the Player Tele from Reverb. Found and bought a brand new Ltd Ed Lake Placid Blue one for $519 plus tax and $14 shipping from Adorama!
