I bought a new American Standard Strat in Oct '16 from GC on an impulse, because I liked my Tele so much I thought I should have a Strat to compare. I had it set up, played it some for about an hour, but I just haven't found time to explore it, so I put it on CL for $895, about 20% off what I paid for it. It is almost new, never gigged, complete with all case candy and TSA approved hard case, beautiful sunburst finish. But I can't hardly get any response! Only two enquiries in two months, one offer of $750 and one for $600! Ridiculous! "If I cain't sell it, I'm gonna sit down on it. I ain't gonna give it away." (Thank You, Ruth Brown). Have the Strats just fallen out of favor? Is everybody just cheap, broke, or looking for a bargain? I'll keep this till it becomes a collectible classic or my grandchildren want it, before I'll give it away. It is a thing of beauty, even if I never play it (which would be too bad, and is unlikely) and it simply hangs on my studio wall (more likely). End of rant.
