Stupidly, I sold my custom shop Nocaster with a perfect 10/56 neck and when I decided I wanted to replace it I realized I couldn't because that neck is usually .88" at the 1st fret and mine was .93"

So I thought why not build one.

I ordered the neck with the specs that I assumed would be very close to my CS Nocaster. Musikraft was great working with me on neck thickness and only charged a bit more to provide the .93" dimension at the first fret.

Excitedly pulled it out of the box today and as soon as grabbed it was pretty far off from the 10/56 I was expecting.

First impression is that I don't like it, but guess I will give it a try. Seems like a lot of people like V necks.

Indeed, I think I would like the Musikraft shape!

I like V necks and my last two Tele builds had Vs. But it is really just personal preference.

I have an Allparts TMO Fat on a TeleGib build and it's bigger than most maple necks (check their specs). The profile is right on the money with the CS Nocaster (tried one just last week) with not a hint of V-ness. I can't stand V-necks. I just love that TMO!

    Allparts fat looks good.

I guess I’m going to try this one out and worse case is I hate it, sell it and replace.

I guess that’s another advantage to partscasters...no harm in switching out a a neck.

Curious now what shape a 10/56 is supposed to be. My custom shop was not any kind of V.

I would call it a C with a little shoulder removed from the lower frets.

Thanks Felis. Interesting they call it a V but doesn’t look much like one to me.

I wish the one I got looked like the ones in the the images you found.

I think Musikraft is doing their own interpretation of 10/56. But in fairness to them mine does seem to match the image on their site.
