82EFEC22-C8BA-4205-B4BE-57F5D1E29640.jpeg That’s “new lap steel day”, ya dirty hippies. Don’t get so excited. Saw it sitting out at a yard sale. Whipped a U turn and went right back. $10. This thing is a TON of fun.

Sweet! I've had my eye on those forever. Never seen one that cheap, though :)

Why does everyone else find cool stuff at yard sales? My last yard sale find was a Harmon Cardon transcription turn table 25 years ago. Before that was a pair of Bose 301s.

That's probably the very first anything by Peavey that I've ever seen that was COOL, and that I would actually buy, AND FOR 10 BUCKS!!! I'd say you bought a helluva lot of fun!! Hey Jake, how about a sound clip?? Enjoy it!!!!

I thought it was new LSD day and was wondering if we would have a story about a trip. Whew, that’s a close one.

I’ve wanted one for forever as well. Never see them used. I was just driving down the road and peeking at a yard sale. I always just kind of give a look as I go by to see if anything sticks out. This thing stuck out like a sore thumb. I whipped a u turn right in the street and went straight back.

I asked the guy what he wanted for it and he said “gimme ten bucks.” I didn’t even haggle. There was also a little squire practice amp (like the ones that come in the beginner kits) and a couple of crappy radio shack mics. I left that stuff there. Don’t need anymore junk cluttering up my life. But I could not let the steel go.

I had a lap steel years ago, that I rescued from a pawn shop for $20. Harmony brand, if I remember correctly. Our lead guitarist saw it sitting in my bedroom, snatched it up, and went to town on that thing. If it had strings on it he could pull a song out of it.

It wasn't as cool looking as yours, Jakedog. Nice score, for sure.

I’ve wanted one for a while. I used to have a 60’s Guyatone lap steel. I wasn’t using it, and a tattoo artist friend of mine really wanted it. So I traded it for some ink work.

Harmony%20H601.jpg I Googled Harmony Lap Steel and by gosh, here it is. I had mine in '74, so there wasn't a bunch of corrosion on it.
