    New (old) Guild Guitar Day!

So I've been Jonesing for one of these for a long time now. It's an '88 Guild D15, cherry red, high gloss finish. All mahogany; arched back and solid 'hog top.

I'm thrilled with it. This guitar and carry case are like brand new, I'm not kidding, looks like it was just delivered from the Westerly factory where it was built. It's like stepping back in time 32 years.

OK, see you knuckleheads later; I'm gonna go play my new Guild!

Wow !!! What a find!!! Good luck with her !!!

I prefer mahogany acoustics over any other more common spruce top designs ... it's a different sound that is more pleasing to my ear ...

You really have to appreciate how others can keep their guitars for us when we buy them. I was treated the same way when I got my Guild D-60 a couple years ago. It's a 1987, and doesn't even have a swirl mark on it.

Congrats!! Very sweet guitar. I was looking at new Guilds recently. But to me a Guild without an arched back just ain’t a Guild. I was looking at older ones, but couldn’t find one in decent shape for a decent price.

You sir, scored big! She’s beautiful!

Sweet. I have a good friend who has one just like that he bought new back in the day. Except his is all maple, and not in nearly as good condition.

Cool! I have always had a soft spot for Guild. Back in the day they occupied that sweet spot in price between a Harmony Sovereign and Martin D18 or Gibson J45. So the became the first "higher dollar" guitar many of us owned. I have never owned a D15 but I have owned two D25s - one with a spruce top and one with a mahogany top. I wonder what the difference between the D25 and D15 was.
