Here is my new (older) Tele.
CIJ Lake Placid Blue. Always wanted a Telecaster with a double bound body.

Tell us about it. MIM. MIA? Pickups etc.
Love that blue. I've acquired a liking for blue after several nice guitars I've seen lately. You used to not see many blue bodies but the color has so many variations that people like.

Sorry. CIJ = Crafted in Japan. It is from 2005/2005. Former owner told me it has Texas Special (?) pickups. Nice neck, satin feel to it. The blue has a nice way of changing depending that light that falls on it.
It has some wear on it, but I like that. 4-way switch, so 4th position is humbucker mode.

I will put Bardens pickups and a 3-ply black pick guard on it, eventually.

    Thanks all!

It was made in the Fuji-Gen Factory in Japan. Not a Squier.
I have Bardens in another Tele, and I love those pickups ... I can always try, don't I.

It is really wild what gets made at that Fuji plant. They make these fantastic models for a few years(2-5) and then poof! They stop that model. Really good stuff gets made there but nothing gets made there very long. Dunno what's going on at that plant. Is it a plant that gets subcontract jobs to build x amount of this or that and then the contract expires and production ends for that model. It seems like they can make anything there and make it better than other folks can.

Not at all. I have an '85 Japanese Strat and just parted with a 2006 Japanese Tele that are all Fender, not Squier.

Fender Japan has been making "Fenders" since the 80s. Some very sought after Fender Japan guitars floating around. I've never played a bad one.

My MIJ Kotzen signature Tele just might be the nicest Fender I own, including a couple of American Deluxes. Absolutely beautiful guitar.

Speaking of beautiful guitars, that double bound LPB is gorgeous! Enjoy!

I see the Strats with 3 ply pick gards but on the Teles you rarely see that. Even expensive teles will use the one ply plates.
I was tempted to try a 3 ply on on my tele until I saw the prices. Sheesh!
