I finally was able to replace a tele I sold to pay bills. Its an AV 52 and feels like an old friend, since the tele I replaced was a Broadcaster. Ordered used through a GC a thousand miles away and picked it up today at the local GC. Is it my imagination or is the AV 52's neck a bit wider than Broadcaster? It has cosmetic issues and the finish chips rather than wears evenly. But it came with compensated saddles and a good setup. And it weighs a hair over 7lbs. Very much worth the wait. There is nothing like a telecaster that just feels right.

Specs sure vary. I had an older thin skin '52 that - purely by memory - was pretty close to my Broadcaster. In the body cavity it had a Hot Rod sticker, which didn't make sense to me because it was s/s config. I also briefly had a newer Wildwood thin skin '52 with a big U, 9.5" radius, and a humbucker. Very different feel, felt much wider!

    Glad you found a match.

Believe it a 2016. Case a little rough and does have the cosmetic issues, but it does what only a tele does very well.

    Congrats, she's a beauty!
BTW, coming back to your question, the answer is yes: the AV has a wider neck, the narrow neck of the Broadcaster is the reason why I don't own one. Having an AV52 already, I could clearly feel the difference and it was a deal breaker for me.

Yeah the neck really makes a difference.
