    Hi guys

I have just been delivered what is supposed to be a 2016 AV 52 telecaster, in as new condition :D:D
About two weeks ago I bought another AV tele, a 64 in fiesta red (thanks to @rze99 for this one )

I have been waiting because I wanted to start a NGDx2 thread, so here I am.

Here is a pic of the carton: it is extremely cold so I have to be patient et let it acclimate.

Pics of the actual guitars will follow, together with the rest of the electric family; in any case it is a very simple family:

    2x AV 52 Tele
2x AV 64 Tele (both in fiesta red:oops:)
1xclassic series tele in oly white.

I go back to work, patiently waiting...

Hey, that looks like great tone box. How does it compare to the '64 box?

The 64 box was bigger (you could really hear the rosewood ), but it is gone now.

Well here we are. I have opened the case and what I found is a mint AV52 tele: there still was the plastic on the neck pickup! I don't think that from the pics it is clear, but it is quite interesting that in the flesh there is a big difference in colour between the 2012 AV52 and the 2016 one. Probably it is because the first guitars had a too fragile nitro and Fender decided to spray more, I am not sure but I clearly recall a lot of people complaining for this.

    Anyway, here they are.

    Nice family Mimmo !
Is there much quality and sound différence between your 64s and the Classic 60 ?
Except poly vs nitro and pickups...
Sorry about my bad english, I am french

Really nice man! I’m curious though, why 2 of each? I have one of each and love them equally but don’t really see the need of getting more of them unless I’d mod them or would have a need for exact backups.

Pas de soucis, moi j'ai vecu huit ans à Paris, je viens justement de rentrer à Rome ;-)

Yes, the answer to your question is yes: I don't think that there are 1000 euros between the guitars, of course, the classic 60s is a very nice guitar, but the 64 is something different.

    Thanks Sinner!
I know it may sound odd, but I use to buy guitars at every important moment of my life and the first 52 and 64 teles I bought are linked to very, very important periods and I am deeply attached to them.
So I have bought two more because I don't want to "ruin" the first ones. Of course I will be playing them, but my intention is to use the "new" ones more that the others, just to preserve them.
My first 52 already shows several dings, and the paint of the first years is way more fragile than in the last version, so I will try to keep it safe, together with the first 64.

To each his own, how they say ;)

Maybe two twins are a little redundant, I know, so I am thinking of selling/trading the second 64 to add a different flavour to the family (maybe a strat? a LP?), but I am pretty done the way the family is. I could not really ask for more and actually I have more than I deserve. I am heartily attached to the classic 60s, again for personal reason, so if one has to go it would be the newer 64. But that is all.

BTW one thing that I find interesting is the decal on the 2016 52: it is in a slightly different position if compared to the 2012 52, maybe someone in the factory put it in a rush?
In any case it is completely original, I have taken the neck off just to be sure (there are too many fakes around here!), so it is just a curious detail.
