I took an acoustic/electric nylon string guitar guitar down to the local music store to have a static problem through the amp addressed, and while there, I started noodling on some of the Taylor 12 strings they have laying around.

The first one I tried out, an $1800 model didn't 'do' anything for me at all, so I hung it back up on the wall and noticed this very nice, dark wood, grand concert sized 12 string next to it. It didn't have a price tag on it, and just assumed by it's appearance that it was a lot more than I could afford (and it was, but there's ways around that if one is determined, and perhaps a little stupid, but....).

It was fantastic, low, easy action (for an acoustic 12 string anyway), and I could pick chords quite cleanly, and it was a musical monster.

I had to have the damn thing.

So, home I go to see what I could find as a gear redundancy that I could sacrifice to the insatiable 'Gods-of-Guitar-Desire', and grabbed two guitars, a Gretsch and an Epiphone in this case, and one smallish Boss amp to sacrifice in order to get the cash part of the Taylor's cost down to something almost manageable.

The Taylor was $3000, with $1000 off of that in trade-in stuff, so I got out of there with the Taylor for two grand, spread out over the next twelve months at zero interest.

It's a 582CE, and as far as I can tell, worth every nickel. I might post a short video of it in the next day or two.

Good gosh that thing is gorgeous. Great grab and congrats. Question is - any need to restring? Strings look like they are new.

Sometimes you just know when it’s right...then the rest is all problem solving and explanation. Letting you make payments is a gift. Congratulations!

    Happy 12 day.
By bud's got a Taylor 12 that seems to be magical, too.
They just seem to have figured it out - bravo.

While mine is not a Taylor, I'm glad to have it, even if it's not a daily player.
    Peace - Deeve

    Congrats she’s a beauty
I live the opposite philosophy for buying though, I take my advice from old school poker players, never put more than 10% of your bankroll on the line at any given moment.
We all must manage our own finances as we see fit though so you do you and enjoy the hell out of that thing, sometimes you just got to have it and time proves it a good decision

    Very nice, enjoy it.

As a recent 12 string owner "we talked about my Sanatoga",
I have never used a capo, always thought of it as cheating.
However; on the 12 string, oh boy, what an awesome tool.
Dig yours out, it's worth it.

Very nice, and it matches your color scheme. Too bad you have so little equipment left.

You don't see a Sanatoga guitar every day, I have two of them.

That guitar is strikingly beautiful! I’m drawn in, and I haven’t even heard how it sounds!
