I couldn’t help myself. A blonde nitro finish with a big U-shaped neck was too good to pass up. Traded in my strat, which I couldn’t quite connect with. The relic job is much better here than the black 2010 Road Worn Player in the pic.

    Love this guitar!

I'm looking forward to this. That vintage blonde looks great. And all really nice appointments on the series as a whole it seems. Got more pics? What are your thoughts so far?

Trading a strat for a Tele is always the right play  Enjoy!

A few more pics as requested. like I said, relicing is nice for the series. The headstock might have a few too many dings, but I dig the little bit of finish checking on the back.

On the whole I really like it. I find the satin-like lacquer on the chunky neck comfortable. Pickups aren’t too hot and come across as snappy with some twang and growl, especially with a little OD.

I tried to like that Strat. It was comfortable to play, but didn’t care for the stock pickups. I reached for my Teles and LP almost every time.

I traded off my strat. It was a very comfortable playing guitar but I just couldn't get past the quack quack sound

That was also a big reason I traded in my Strat.

I like the look of that - dare I say it that the wear looks “real”

If you told me it was from the fifties I’d believe you, looks like it! Nice!

I don’t know the weight, but it is lighter than my other two Teles.

If you have played a 50s Road Worn Tele (the early model with more relic) , how does the neck compare ?

    Congrats.

It is such a bummer to me that none of these come with 6230 frets. If they did, I'd actually be considering a Road Worn or two for the first time. They deliberately made them all mediums, only on the lacquer models. Most of the standard polyester finish Vinteras have the "vintage" 6230 frets. The combination of 6230s AND a lacquer finish is now something reserved for the isolated instrument here and there (the cheapest is the Dragon Tele, I think, and the next cheapest is the Mirror Tele at $2,500).
