Back in October I talked myself into selling my prized, one and only Tele to fund a PRS Special Semi-Hollow. While the PRS was an amazing guitar, every time I played it I just thought about how much I missed the Tele. It got to a point where I was even having dreams about my old guitar. I had it longer than any guitar, 8 years. Selling her was a mistake. Live and learn. Last week I was able to find a buyer for my PRS. I called the person I sold my Tele and unsurprisingly he was not interested in selling her back. Can't blame him, it's a great guitar. After researching and obsessing over what guitar i should get I decided on a Thin Skin 64 from Wildwood. I really loved the looks, reminiscent of Mike Bloomfield's 63. Bloomers is the reason I picked up the guitar in the first place. The demos sounded awesome. So Wednesday I pulled the trigger. It got here today and I could not be happier. Beautiful guitar. Light and resonant. The feel is definitely different than my old 52 RI, this one has a 9.5 radius and 6105 frets, but I have to say it is very comfortable to play, bends are a breeze. Plugged in, wow. The CS Twisted Tele pickups are sweet and articulate. Less twangy than the 52's but more refined in the mid range and the neck pickup is incredibly sweet sounding. Im so glad to be back in the Tele fold. Feels like home.
