    Hello everyone!
Suffering from a sudden and fulminant GAS I bought this wonderful 8502!

It is in very good shape, with its original plastic hard case, but no documents.
It is 2003 year, one of first samples, pickguard is yellowed white (later on honey blonde will be black)
    Sound is very killer!

    Here you have some pict:

As usual, let's go to the operating table for a thorough examination!

    Screw out the pickguard

    Here is neck pickup:

There are plastic stamped code "7486" and handwiting with white ink "899"

Under the pickguard a surprise: routings predisposed for humbucker at the neck and for a third central pickup!! Code 767 refferring tho the color, honey blonde.

Those routes are pretty normal, so they can become any of several different models just by changing the pickguard!

Here we have the control plate with pots and three position switch. Tone pot has a "click".

The solderings on volume pot are really awful... I have never see other 8502, could be original or not?

Strange ground pole screw....on the wood (!!!??!?!?)

Dismount the neck. It is not necessary unscrew completely the four screws: when remount, the screws will be find the same position of before

A date on the neck, unfortunately a sad anniversary

This is the date of production of neck (the other above could be the assembly date)

I see the specs say a U shaped neck , is it noticeable?

Thanks. I hope this "vivisection" will be useful for future reference.
I can confirm based on this diagram
    https://p4.zdassets.com/hc/theme_assets/549136/200076499/011-8502A_SISD.pdf
all parts are correct. The only doubt is the soldering on volume pot and colour of bridge pickup wires (mine is BLUE/yellow, on the diagram is BLACK/yellow) ...if there's a volunteer 8502's owner that can dismount the control plaque and see solddering and wire colours is welcome!
