Dropped my new Les Paul off with my guitar guy today for a setup and spotted a nice Stratocaster hanging on the wall.

It was a mint condition 2007 Squier Vintage Modified Stratocaster in Gun Metal Gray.

About 15 minutes later, I’m out the door with the Stratocaster and a nice hard shell case for $250.

What a nice guitar for the money. Fit and finish looks as good as my two American made Fender Stratocasters.

In the second photo the guitar looks almost black in limited lighting.

That's my very favorite VM model. Love that color. My only beef was the mismatching pickup colors.
Agreed, think I’ll look into buying a humbucker pickup cover this week.

I like that a lot! I'm afraid that I have to agree about the p/u covers. I like contrast so I would probably just change the singles and the knobs to black and call it a day. The light colored guard makes it pop. Congratulations.

Nice score ! Vintage modified is my favorite squire line.

I have a jag master 24 inch scale and a tele thinline w a 25 1/2 inch scale. The Duncan pickups are great and the craftsmanship just superb.

I love them just a much as my 2 American fenders.

There’s just something so special about a good squire. They have great mojo - so non pretentious and honest.

The Humbucker pickup looks to be a Seymour Duncan, and that alone is $100+ and cases are $100+ so you got a guitar for about $50.
