A local fella posted this on OfferUp a couple months ago. The story is the previous owner bought it for a wall hanger in his man cave. It has a couple dings in it no doubt from his slightly inebrieted posse pulling it down to play Guitar Hero! I just couldn't walk away from it! Beautiful IMO! Zero wear on the frets or pickguard. Fret ends are incredibly smooth. The seller swapped the original pups for a set of Toneriders. They sound a little thin to me so they're getting swapped once again for a Bootstrap Palo Duro in the bridge that I previously replaced with a Pretzel in my Affinity. I'm trying out a Guitar Madness Hybrid in the neck...stay tuned for thoughts on that one! I just completed machining brass knobs and saddles to install when I swap the pups, hopefully this weekend. This is a 2017 model, wondering if the fretboard is rosewood or indian laurel? Std_1.jpg Std_2.jpg Std_3.jpg Std_4.jpg Knobs_2.jpg Saddles.jpg

Now that's a looker. Nice saddles too!!!! Wow.

I don't know when they switched over to the newer woods. I'm interested to know.

Nice! I would play with the pup heights before I condemn them to the reject bin.

I would say Pau Ferro vs. laurel. But I am no expert. If it IS rosewood, I don't care for the streaking.

Good advice on pup height. I'll give it a shot. I really don't think it's rosewood either.

Great looking guitar! The fretboard looks like Indian Laurel or Pau Ferro to me.

Do you know what kind of Tonerider pickups were installed?

Love it. Glad the frets are clean, now put some player wear on it!

I’m a guitar snob. I fall hard for pretty. I love the neck. It has beauty and character. I can’t tell exactly what color the body is on my phone, but it looks yellow. That’s another plus. Pickups? Lower them, then raise the bridge until you like it. Then raise the neck. Your Tele is too pretty to have a bad singing voice.

Looks nice. How are the frets? Every new Squire I have ever played (which is admittedly few) have drawn blood or scratched my hands within seconds of picking them up. I hope yours is nicer than those.

Enjoy and best of luck to you.

Squier Standards are often a good hidden deal. I still have a Strat and I had a Tele that I sold to a friend who was learning to play. I bought mine at garage/estate sales. I paid $27 for the Strat because it needed a lot of work. I paid $75 for the Tele and was told it "wouldn't stay in tune" (all it needed was to be strung right and a setup).

There’s some weird, wild and sometimes wonderful streaking in the budget market these days. What a looker!
