The middle Strat pickup is typically a RW/RP pickup so you get noise canceling in positions #2 and #4. The only Fender Tele pickups I'm immediately aware of that are RW/RP are CS Nocasters.

An example of an inexpensive but incredible sounding set that upgrades those stock Alnico Vs in a Squier TL are Bill Lawrence/Wilde Keystones which are a RW/RP set as well.

Huh... I thought all modern Tele pickups (since the '60's, at least) had a RW/RP bridge pickup.

Does the thin line have a humbucker sized neck pickup rout, like the CV50? Would love a thinline with a nice pearly gates in the neck, flip to the bridge and get that twang.
