Great price on a nice guitar. Are the pups stylized HBs, or do they sound like filtertrons?

They are Fltertron sized, and sound like slightly hotter Filtertrons. I think they sound better after I swapped the stock 250k pot for a 500k pot

That’s a great looking guitar! The background reminds me of my old school photos

The original "La Cabronita" fender models had an S1 switch in the volume pot. Pressing the switch selected various tonal changes for each switch position. They soon changed to just the standard volume switch for the "Cabronita" models with no tone control whatsoever...always on "10."

The pickups are what they called "fidelitron" pickups, supposedly made by TV Jones. They are low output filtertron type humbuckers. This was Fender's ode to Gretsch. There are also thinline versions....and Squier had a version with a Bigsby licensed vibrato.

I had the one with a Bigsby (it got stolen, unfortunately) and loved it, even without the tone control it sounded great. I liked the sound so much that since then I've sought out all the Fidelitron pickups I could find for other builds (they aren't easy to find....)
