I just finished up my latest build. It still needs a string tree and some set up work, but it's playing pretty great considering. You can check out the build over here:

This guitar didn't start out its life as a thinline, but it is now. Looks like a pretty good Christmas gift to me, but I'm planning on giving it to a good friend of mine. He's been trying to get into the guitar world for awhile. Really good musician, but unfortunately he's a percussionist. So maybe this will push him over to the world of guitars.

And there it is next to my favorite Fender Strat. The Fender is Daphne Blue and it's closing in on 20 years old. I didn't realize how much the pickguard had yellowed compared to the new shiny white guitar!

Cool - a different take on the Strat. Rarely see a thinline Strat type.

Thanks! It was a heavy lump of ash so I planed it down and made a top for it. I was trying to find examples of Strat f holes that were not the traditional and really couldn't find any so I made my own. You're right. You don't see many thinline Strats.

That's VERY nice! I feel like a hungry trout that is being subjected to Shadow casting.

Like other posters here, I've only seen a few thinned/hollowed strats, but I like the f-hole system in use.

    So, how does it feel/sound?

    Peace - Deeve

Nice work. You’re a good friend too to be gifting this beauty.
