I completely understand
Congrats on the nice guitar. Thanks for sharing with us also. Best wishes and play on!
When I bought my gibson in 06 it had a very strong smell almost like vanilla carnuba wax, I always thought It was from their buffing compound but it must be from the nitro because almost 15 years on it still has that smell if you get close
I don’t really notice it as much with my nitro fenders
(Now I’m gonna be sniffing all my guitars)
Great story and amazing jazzmaster!
Enjoy it for years and years...
I have shot nitro before and, believe me, it does NOT smell like a cupcake. I've had several new-ish Gibson's that have had this smell very powerfully. I'm not sure if it's the guitar or the case but, between the 2, there are plenty of deadly-smelling chemicals.
I'm pretty sure the vanilla smell is added to cover up a poisonous smell and/or to make you want to buy new guitars.
Great looker, congratulations.
I love that guitar. Great post. Enjoy!
what a lovely boy meets guitar story, they oughta make a movie
