I hate GC when they have these 15% off sales. I was all set to get a reasonably priced SG Classic with the P-90s (love me some P-90s!), I just thought I should check out all the SGs to make sure I did my due diligence and wouldn't get buyer's remorse...sure enough when i picked up the '61 it started talking to me. The neck is thinner than I usually like, but it is pretty wide, so there is a lot of room for my fat fingers, and the '57 pups are smoooooooth. It sounds GREAT through an AC15C1.

I know I need to post a pic or it didn't happen, here is a crappy iPhone pic! Happy Memorial Day everyone.

Watch Monterey Pop 1967 tons of people playing SG's.

Great for slide and lead probably one of the best designs for rock.

    I love SG's.

Pimp. I freakin' love Gibson SG's. I have not played an easier to play or more comfortable guitar model. Their tones rule, too. Nice, creamy, and mid-rangey.

Nice looking axe. My next Gibby will prolly be an SG -- and like you, I have a thing for the p90s.

What made you change your mind? Just some indefinable mojo? Nothing wrong with that, of course. Just curious.

I am not sure...it was a "feel" thing. The frets on the Classic were not dressed as well (although they were a lot better than the two Standards I tried out...very rough on bends). The frets on the Classic also seemed a hair taller. And, as much as I like a fat neck, the '61 just felt better.
