She’s here all 8 pounds O ounces of er

She really is a beaut like @Ivan says it’s almost impossible to capture the beauty of the blue on film
    She’s serial number 56 only 5 ahead of Ivan’s

This is what the dealers photo looked like

Got a sweet keychain and polishing cloth with it also

Neck is thicker than I would have expected given the description by fender, Nut is a tad wider
My neck thickness is .84 at the first .95 at the 12th

Another beauty!! This thing is more contagious than the rona! Congrats sir, stunning ax. As I said in the other thread, I would ditch the guard for a more traditional color.

    Nice! Great minds think alike!

I did wonder if the serial numbers were sequential.

So when these came out online, the photos showed the serial beginning with JM. The MX prefix surprised me.

However the most surprising thing is that the Fender decal on yours is positioned differently to mine... That's strange?
Yours is how the official photos look like.

I noticed the decal placing too, yours has a MX on it? Mines JM

Woe yours does have MX! I wonder if they stop at a certain point between yours and mine if they are sequential

I think I’m gonna put a 5 hole single ply on it

It’s almost a turquoise in person, not sure if it’s because of the nut but the neck feels a lot more substantial than it’s measurements would have one to believe

Maybe they're using different serial numbers for different markets since I am in the UK.

The decal could just be a mistake... Although now I'm curious to compare mine with others in the UK.

I was wondering that too about different regions maybe, there’s not a lot floating about and yours is the lowest serial I’ve seen although I also saw one in the 400’s so you’d think there’s at least that many around somewhere

I wouldn’t worry about the decal as I believe they are hand placed still

Yesterday there was someone on the tonemaster thread that works for fender I wonder if they would know about the serials

Edit: I found him, @stilwel maybe you can help us out regarding serial numbers , see post 4,5,7

Another great Mascis, congrats! Again, I would keep the mirror guard for sure, how you can beat a constantly changing pickguard including nice green trees??

Holy heck! Oh my! Hot dang!

I just plugged er in! I may have found my favorite tele neck pickup, it’s not muddy at all and even clearer than my p.v 64!

The middle out of phase position is cool, and sounds like a cocked wah when the tone is rolled back

    Nice guitar. Jealous.

I'd leave the mirror pickguard. It sets it apart.

Here's some rare footage of J with the blue Tele doing what he does...

I love that song, there’s a video of them on letterman maybe “out there” with the bass player (don’t know his name) playing it

Jumbo frets make any neck feel much more substantial than the numbers might indicate.

I really wish this guitar had more of the hardware features I want. The look is great and I would love a neck like my JMJM on a tele.

Mike Johnson. He was around for three albums. Good bass player. Different style than Lou Barlow, but he complimented the band well. His tasty little solo in the above clip is nice.

I don't usually pay much attention to the numbers, but it reached 3999, so...
