During Christmas Break I was browsing the classifieds on another forum and ran across a used Kirn Tele for sale. I was considering it so I went to Ron's site to see how the price compared. I found this bad boy on sale for the same price as the used guitar - and I liked this one a whole lot more. Easy choice.

The Eastern White Pine was reclaimed from the Globe Grain Elevator. Very cool.

Anyone ever notice how difficult Ron is to work with? Sometimes it takes him a few minutes to email back :D

Nice one. That's my favorite of his holiday sale this year. I really love the knots and the color.

I think he must of done an extra nice finish on that guitar so when I saw the picture it would specifically tick me off. Actually I'm pretty sure all his guitars come out that nice. Makes me want to be lacquering something shaped like a Tele.

I saw some of those that he has on his site...they are truly beautiful! The price looks to be affordable, as well. I think I'll be visiting there more often, just to dream a little...

Nice looking wood there, good to buy it from him and support the efforts of a good honest builder who is kind enough to share his knowledge with us.

If I hadn't elected to build my own tele's, I would have most certainly picked up one of the Kirn barncasters. Seems like a screaming deal for a handmade guitar.

I guess you didn't get my message that that one was for me.

Congrats. She is a beauty, and was, (as I said!) my pick of the litter.

    Play it in good health!

I liked it too, and I wondered if there is usually an upcharge for the stain finish? Raw or stained, very desirable.

sorry for reviving this old thread, but the stain on that Ron Kirn pinecaster is BEE YOO TIFUL, and I'm putting together a pinecaster myself

Ron, are you around? what did you use for that stain? REALLY nice work there, looks great with that fretboard

    UPDATE:

woops, sorry, from Ron's site: "Genuine Nitrocellulose Reticulated Satin Lacquer with natural amber tint."

I can't answer that as I bought it already completed. However, Ron is very easy to reach via email - he has always answered me within minutes. Give him a shout.

That's a beautiful peice of wood. I can't afford his guitars but I'd love to see
    his shop one day.
