Welcome to the club. I bought my long awaited 360/12 when I was 53 also. I had said for years I wanted one, and my son finally said " why don't you just buy one". So I did !! It spends way too much time in the case, but it's been checked off the list. That purchase actually started an avalanche of gear acquisitions.

You had me curious so I checked my records. I bought mine in 2005, when I was 54.

That is gorgeous and really the only guitar with more jangle and sparkle than the tele.

That's very nice. Congratulations and welcome to the Rick 12 club. When you start gigging it (if you do), you'll find observant people coming up to you saying things like, "You never see people playing Rickenbacker 12s in bars! That guitar sounds great!" It's always nice to hear.

If you're into The Byrds sound, think about pairing it up with a Janglebox compressor. It was made to recreate that Byrds/Beatles jangle, and it does it very well.

    Wow. Beautiful.

Oddly enough, I have a 330 from 1983. One of the first things I did when I got my driver license was to go buy it with money I had saved up:

Thanks for the kind words and advice! Still in the bonding process...

A "warm" 1964 PR, and a "bright" DRRI. But... I plugged a stereo Y cable into the Ric-O-Sound jack, and ran the bridge pup to my PR and the neck pup to a 50W Marshall acoustic amp. I put a little delay on the PR and a little chorus on the Marshall. What a cool sound! Two Rics jamming together! Must have played "Chimes of Freedom" twenty times! LOL

    Ciao,
    Rick

Gaw-juss! I see a janglebox in your future. I love my 330 12 string, so much fun to play.

    That looks stunning.

I might be in a minority here but Genesis' Michael Rutherford is the first player that comes to mind when I see a 360/12.

And today I played another guitar that has Rutherford's association attached, I was at a shop today that had a Shergold 12 string which had a lovely neck and a very light body (which is a rarity, seeing as how some of them are real boat anchors.
And with me being a genesis fan I couldn't pass up a chance to play some "Dance on a volcano" on it.

But it would appear that Mister Rutherford has since gone back to using Rickies.
