So I love my Reverend Airwave so much that I wanted to buy another Reverend. Catch is there are no dealers within 4 hours of Houston so you have to take a leap. I considered the entire range with a few parameters: I wanted a fender scale bolt-on with preferably one of those nice roasted maple necks. Also wanted to avoid anything too redundant to my Tele, Strat, or SG. I also wanted a tremolo. Basically I was looking for something versatile.

Settled on this mint 2021 AirSonic that I picked up for a screaming deal on Reverb. The setup was rough when I got it so it’s taken me a few days to dial it in, but now it plays and sounds killer. As advertised, it has a vibe closer to a semi-hollow. The railhammer pickups are very smooth and rich once you get the height set correctly, and very quiet. They get dark and dull if you set them too low, or lopsided which was the way it was when I got it. It sustains like a Les Paul. I LOVE the neck and the floating tremolo although dialing that in also took research because I changed string heights and that necessitates a claw tension adjustment.

In short I love it, but the caveat is that you need to drop any preconceived notions because it’s so different from typical Fender and Gibson reference points. It’s its own thing. Like all Reverends the build quality is exceptional. Reverends live in the sweet spot of maximum quality to price. Great option if you’re looking for something different.

Now less talk more guitar.

Cheers

I like it! I had a Double Agent for a while and loved the neck on it. Couldn't bond with the sounds, though.

That Wilkinson trem they use is fantastic. Much better than a Strat trem.

Agreed, first time I’ve ever tried a Wilkinson trem but I really like it. Much smoother than the one on my Strat Plus.

+1^^

I have one Rev (Sensei w/ P90 neck and Railhammer bridge), and stupidly sold a Club King 290.
Both purchased online. Both great guitars.
