I had one on order for my birthday last week but my sneaky(but very lovely) wife swapped the order to a '56 Custom Shop NOS fiesta red one at twice the price.......I actually cried when I opened the case and saw it. I hope you're lovin' yours.

Now that is an incredible wife!!

Fiesta Red is a great color for either rosewood or maple necks. It's a shame Fender doesn't do more models in Fiesta Red more often.

I'm not usually a big fan of Fiesta or Dakota Red but I've got say that is one fine-looking tele. Love the combo with the rosewood board - congrats!

Amazing, you should keep her! Your wife too, she doesn't sound too bad either!

Snap on a couple fender amp volume and tone knobs and you've got an instant Muddy Waters Tele!

Man that's nice! I always thought I wanted a BSB blackguard but I think I like the fiesta red with the RW fretboard better.

I don't think Muddy's was Fiesta. Personally, I would leave as it is. It's classic without any changes.

Congratualtions BritTwang that is the best looking one I've seen. LOVE the Fiesta red and the dark RW neck. My 64 fretboard was super dry and since taking the pics for my NGD thread it's soaked up 3 coats of oil no problem! It's much richer looking now, but not quite as special as yours.

To all PV owners - what strings are you using? I've put some Ernie Ball 9s on it and it feels very easy to play, but has lost some of its acoustic power…I think I'll go back to 10s.

Thanks again guys. I'll put up some more pics in the morning since some of you asked so nicely!

Jonny, mine is pretty dark but it also has some really nice red streaks running up the fretboard, I'll try to photograph it, see how it comes out. I'll also add a pic of the neck, there is a real nice subtle flame/figuring that can be seen, not sure how well it will photograph though, I'll give it a try anyway.

I use 9.5s on my Fenders usually, I'm not sure I'm happy with them on this guitar however, I might go back to 10s next string change, I'll have to see.

Absolutely! Gotta to be done, my MiM Standard was my avatar before but I had to move it on to help fund this one! Out with the old, in with the new :D
