    I thought my two Squier Tele's were good (& still do) but the quality on this Player Tele is a level above,. Sounds great for jazz style as well.
    Hmmm, will I pick up my treasured Gibson L5 again? Probably :)

    I like maple 'boards on BSB finishes because it looks better, it plays better, it's easier to maintain, and - if the body happens to be ash, it sounds better. :)

    Go for it, the butterscotch is great, you can see the woodgrain through it. My photos of the Tele don't Ido the colour justice, as the grain doesn't show in tbe pictures but really stand out in real life. I once had a 70s usa strat that you could also see the grain through the off white colour and love that effect.

    Thanks, that's exactly what I thought when I saw it hanging up on the wall and I just couldn't walk past it.
    Another guy who was hovering around me asked me whilst i was trying it out in the store asked me, are you going to buy it?
    When I said yes, I am buying it, he said in a very dissapointed tone "I came in to buy it but I couldn't see it hanging up on the wall" saying he had been eyeing it up for a while. If i had been 5 minutes later, he had his cash ready. So i nearly missed out.

    Beautiful guitar- but I would say that as I have an identical one. It’s on 10s though - I’m such a wimp! :)

    Thanks, try some flats, it takes a long time for your ears to adjust, well it did for me, but once you pass the proverbial "I think it sounds muddy, dead, lifeless" phase, then the warmth comes through. Once you get used to flats, you never go back! Lol

    Thanks, Its becoming a regular occurance recently. I have bought three Telecasters within three months. Love my Gibsons, but never had Tele's before.
    But really, do I need three Tele's? I think that I may.

    You need at least two, anyway. ;-) The Butterscotch Blond w maple board and black guard, and a double bound '62 with rosewood board... And maybe a mid-50s white guard... Yeah, 3 is good! Haha!!

    So beautiful. To me, when someone says "Tele" it's the BSB I picture. Classic, classy, simple color scheme for a straightforward guitar. Enjoy it!

    Yep,but please don't mention the 62 double bound S/B with R/wood board, that particular Tele haunts me and will do so until one of two things happen, I buy one, or, I die. I prefer the former.
    Thanks for awakening a sleeping dog with cronic GAS;

    Nice guitar. I like flatwounds but would never, ever contemplate 14s! Wow.

    Maple necks are wonderful. I prefer them, but am OK with either.
