NGD - One Of Us - One Of Us - One Of Us

I finally bought a nice Tele. About time.

The force is strong in this group. I can feel it
overpower my will to resist the temptation to
own another Tele, after many years without one.
I sold my other 12 years ago.

I ordered this before Christmas and was very tempted
to post some pics before it arrived, but did not
want to jinx myself. I've not bought a guitar in over 7 years,
as I told myself I had too many, and didn't need another. I was
wrong.

I've been looking at the Ultra Luxe with Floyd, and have
one reserved at Sweetwater when they come in, but may have to
pass, as I've seen a couple used ones go for 75% of the asking price
lately on Reverb.

The AV II, AV, and finally
the AO are all fine examples of
what I wanted.

This one popped on Reverb for a very reasonable price, and
in spite of the warts, I bit. Now if I cause another, I won't
feel as bad.

I had a bit of a mix up on shipping as I had never changed my address
with Reverb. Last purchase there 6 years ago was with my prior address.
Seller sent to my old address and yesterday they tagged the door. I've since
edited my profile at Reverb for my correct address, and my better half
drove about 90 miles today back to our old home town to visit the UPS
facility and pick up the guitar they had tried to deliver to the wrong address.
All my fault. My bad. It took some time on the phone with UPS to pull the guitar
off the truck and have it waiting for a pickup.

My better half is the real keeper in this for making the trip.

This one was abused a little but has now found a great home.
I promise to play her a lot and make beautiful music with her,
and not bump, or bruise, or give her buckle rash to the best of my ability.

The seller mentioned that the butterfly string tree had been changed to the
washer style. No problem. It would not have made a difference for me
but I appreciated his honesty.

The pics with the blue carpet are from the sellers listing. The rest are mine.
I used a flash and I don't believe he did.

I know it's a good one because it came with a case. lol

Even the turkeys gave it 5 tails up.

Edited for the turkey lovers. I post a lot in the monthly post your daily pics thread, and have a bunch
of the turkey shots in there. We have a little over a hundred of them that pour out of the woods
to browse under the bird feeders every morning. Here is pic of a few of them in the fog.

If you check my prior pics there, you'll see a bunch of wildlife shots. It's a half mile to our nearest neighbor,
the section is mostly wooded, and we have a little over a half acre pond right next to the house. Wildlife galore.

That is very pretty. You have a lot of the more modern style of guitar already (many cool super strat types) so this over the Ultra Luxe seems like a good choice. I too was eyeing the Ultra until I got my Fiore. That was my fav look for a Tele but .. your blue one looks amazing. Get vintage!!!!

Show off!!!

Wow, that is some nice. I love those G + G cases, black with the tousled thick velour like that.

I love the way you put the images, at the end of the posting. People are like "stop talking and show us the Telecaster!" :^)

Beautiful guitar, excellent choice!

LPB and Gold Top Gold are about the only color besides classic/vintage Sunburst I like on a guitar.

Congratulations!

Welcome to the AO '60s club! Amazing guitars all around. Sadly I think the turkeys stole the show here though.
