NGD: Not a Tele

This 01 MIM Strat got added to the collection. I ran across it in the local ads. A little bit of fret wear and some pickguard scratching is all the wear it shows.

Not all Rosewoods are dark, it depends on the tree.

Rosewood varies a lot. That's a fine looking fretboard.

Its a beautiful Strat for sure! The fretboard is rosewood. They didn't shift the MIMs to Pau Ferro until much later.

Welcome from Albuquerque New Mexico. Nice looking find. The 2001 Starts came with ceramic magnet PUs. IMO, a bit thin & uninspiring ( I had one w/ very mags) But on a good note, they can be easily swapped out (on the low end) a Fender Tex-Mex set for $99. Or for around $169, your choice of various newer Alnico magnet sets really broadens. Some players like cer-mags if they run the signal thru several pedals. Good luck & play on.
