    Hey all, happy tele Tuesday!

Recently received my new Squier contemporary tele RH in shoreline gold. I am in the middle of moving so my Marshall is away and sadly my fender Bassbreaker is dead right now. My sound tests have been limited to a solid state bass amp and a cheap pedal.

However, the guitar plays wonderfully! I absolutely love the roasted maple neck! Additionally, I like black hardware, no pick guard, and matching headstock. Different enough to stand out.

I received a decent discount when I ordered it, but the guitar arrived with a small chip on the back. Received some money back so overall cost was very low. The “binding” is just painted on but for the price I didn’t expect real binding.

Loving it so far! Again, the roasted maple neck is amazing!

I like that better than the white one! Nice.

By no means should you go chopping up your new guitar, but I wonder what a single coil would sound like in one of those--one could take that guitar in a little more traditional direction if so inclined. Very cool.

Surprisingly, it still sounds like a tele, albeit this one has high output pickups and is made of poplar. I have no doubt it would sound great with traditional pickups as well.

Way cool! I hope your Strat plays as well as this tele. The neck is very comfortable and super smooth.

Weight? Is it light because of the Poplar Body? Thanks

Very nice. Happy NGD! I have the previous model Contemporary HH Strat in black sparkle (converted to SSS). It’s also made of poplar, which may be my favorite guitar wood to date. It’s the right weight and resonates well acoustically. I’m also partial to basswood for the same reason.

    Enjoy!
