I just wanted to try a guitar with P-90 pickups, fell in love with the neck and bought the thing. It is my first Gibson as I am a Fender guy. What a nice discovery though. I never tought I would go for a Gibson, but I really dig the sounds of the P-90. At 9.8 pounds it is on the heavy side compared with my tele, or strat, but I love the thing. Have any of you guys tried one???

there's one in a shop near me - I have avoided it cause I can't scare up the scratch. I am afraid I would fall in love with it and then be all unhappy.

what's the neck profile like? fat and sassy?

Very nice! I've only tried a few of the current Gibsons with the 50s neck and unfortunately they are all too fat for me - otherwise I would have either one of these or the LP Special at home now.

Love it! I recently got a used Epiphone one myself. It's got the '58 neck profile, and I put Duncan Seth Lovers in there. I'll bet yours sounds great!

    Well done.
    I have the '19 Junior.
    Love the P-90
Really love the 50's neck profile.

If I were looking for a real Les Paul yours would be my first choice.

Awesome! Congrats on the NGD. Haven't tried one of those but I'm sure I'd love it.

Love my gold top recently purchased, except with humbuckers. Sure I would love the P90's as well.

    Congrats!

While I'm a staunch Fender guy, I do have a half dozen Gibsons, all P90 loaded.
So those pickups alone should make the guitar an interesting player.

A guy I used to play with uses one.....if he'd turn off all his cotton-pickin' pedals I bet it would sound awesome!
My first good electric, which I got in 1969, is my 1960 double cut Les Paul Jr. One P-90 to rule the world!!!!!!;)

    Congratulations! Nice choice.
I have had my LP Standard 50s for about a month now, and I am completely blown away by it. The neck is amazing!! I already have a mahogany/maple set-neck guitar with P90s, so I opted for the Burstbucker 1+2 pickups. They sound sweet, as well! Here’s mine:
