I got my Ibanez Artist home and she turns out to be way more fancy than I thought. I mean look at her!

She's not that heavy either, I owned a 1981 Ibanez artist and it bent my spine, the only thing I don't like is how she's neck heavy when strapped on.

Now if you guys excuse me, I have to fire up my Fender Deluxe 85 and let her sing.

So a quick run through my stage set up and these are my findings.

    - She sounds every bit as lush as she looks, a very sophisticated sound comes from her super 58 pickups, certainly not as shouty as my usual stage guitars. (see picture)

Two matching pinecaster double humbucker guitars, one with a strat shape and the other with a tele shape.

    - She also doesn't have that brutal roar of my self made Les Paul-alike.

    - Strapped on, she's neck heavy and that annoys me but nothing a rough leather strap wouldn't solve.

    - The best tone I got out of her so far is a very eighties tone which involved Chorus, delay and a bit of hair on the clean tone, imagine Steve Lukather around the fourth Toto album, that what she excels in.

    - So what am I going to do with her?
One thing's for sure, I won't be using her with my punk band, as she simply doesn't have that shouty quality that that music needs and that my two stage guitars have. I'm relegating her to studio use since those two tri-tone switches make her very versatile.

So it finally came in. Very nice. No stickers on it please. Hope the honeymoon stage lasts for years for you on that guitar.

I thought you said Saturday? ;)

It's gorgeous, congratulations! Are you happy with the shade of the finish? The Super 58's are great pickups, but not high output. I particularly enjoy the neck pickup, and mid-position with neck rolled back a bit.

And please, no stickers! :D Enjoy!

I sold mine in a fit of bad decisions along with my Jubilee head, Dan Armstrong bass and my 80s Gibby LP Custom in a very worn Ferrari red that looked more like tomato soup! That axe introduced me to a lifelong love affairs with Ebony boards, the Gibby style bridge/tailpiece and mahogany! My roommate/axe guru introduced me to the ways of non pointy, floating waffle iron free classic guitars. :D

How is the fret work? Ibanez is usually pretty good, but I’m just wondering.

I Honestly have no idea what it is and what guitar it originally had been on, my guess is some sixties East European monster, but I got it when it was on that ugly as sin "Death dagger" monster I owned last year. It's a PERFECT Bigsby analog and can be installed without routing. the only system which resembles it is the Fender Mustang Dynamic Vibrato.
