It turned out really good and I’m very happy about it. First thoughts after playing was I was surprised at how hot it sounded compared to my strat. When I play my strat on my tweed amp it sometimes seems that the breakup can be all or nothing. This tele barks and the bridge pickup is mean ! I also heard a lot about how people never like the sound of the tele neck pickup but I think it sounds nice. This is the first guitar I have bought in like eight years but it already feels like home to me. I have wanted a reissue tele for many years now and learned a lot about the differences in models since I joined this form, I’m happy I did.

Well done for your first tele pick. Don't forget to post pics of your 2nd tele when you get it, and you will.

Very nice! Is that a 52 Reissue? Or the more recent 50's American Original?

Nice fiddle, and nice amp too! I really love the way that a tele shines through the right amp!

    Congrats!

    Nice...cool guitars.
    Congrats!!!

Yeah, I'm a recent tele convert myself.

I've played mostly strats for 30yrs.
I owned one G&L tele back in the mid-90s that was uncharacteristically problematic and i couldnt bond with it at all.
Recently, for reasons unknown, I picked up a VERY nice MIJ Fenandes tele and immediately fell in love with it!
It is now my #1 and tbh, I haven't picked a strat up since. :)
Now, I wonder why it took so long for me to realize the magic of the tele....who knew?
    (Almost EVERYBODY) lol

    As to the neck pickup...
Some people seem to like 'em and/or deal with 'em, but the one thing I *would* change is the neck pickup.
It hasn't grown on me, rather it grows more unsatisfying every day...that is except for when using the neck/bridge combo.
I want to change the neck pickup out and get something with just a hair more strat like....I think I could live with that.

I really *did* love the AVRI Hot Rod '52 tele and thought the SD mini-bucker worked well in that.
I got to play one fairly regularly for a little while but never owned one myself.

The Tele neck pickup can be sweet, smoky stuff! I use it a lot, switching to the bridge for leads or more biting stuff.

Awesome choice. It’s gorgeous! From a fellow “tele-guy-that-used-to-be-a-strat-guy”, I know what you mean between the Strat and Tele bridge pickup sound. It’s like a Tele bridge is more full, open and aggressive. And it’s like a revelation the first time you compare the two. I still love and play my Strats and they have their place, but my Teles het more play time and are somehow comfortable like an old pair of shoes and always sound and feel just right. If I were to be forced to chose one guitar now, it would be a Tele, hands down, no contest.

Enjoy! You made a fabulous choice!
