Odd that they would leave out the opaque white burst around the edges to hide the end grain. Fender never showed the end grain back in the day.

Dang OP! this is the perfect shade of white and maple tint for me!!

I'm dying in envy!! WOW Congrats on this really nice looking tele!! it looks like it plays as good as it looks!

how does it sound, and how does it differ from your current collection?

I've had a bit of a revolving door of Tele's lately, but this CS beauty is definitely going to stabilize things. I also have a K-Line Truxton in Tahoe Green with a rosewood board. So I feel that the two compliment each other very well.

For a time, I had three slightly lesser - but still awesome - Tele's (Road Worn, MIJ Fender, etc.). I do notice that the CS '55 Tele & K-Line are objectively better ... but I still find the higher-end MIM & MIJ Fender stuff to be a terrific value.

Thanks! thats great! I'm happy you found something that fits your collection and rig nicely!

on the standard models vs CS production.. I wasnt really a believer at first, until I get my hands on a Gibson CS 335.. which the quality really blew away the standard models.. although it's not much of a step up, but it is a step up I am very happy to pay for.. and since then, I sold everything and kept the CS as my only guitar.. and the reality is I couldnt go down anymore, I mean, once you've tasted steak kind of thing.. I'm no snob though, but if I'm going to spend, I'm going to spend for the same quality or higher.

so I wouldnt be surprised on the higher end MIM/MIJ models vs Fender CS differences.. although there's a small gap between the higher end MIA models vs Fender CS.. Id still give the Team built Fender CS a bit of an edge.. Regarding the price difference, if it's justifiable, Id leave that to the buyer to decide if it's worth it.. but I think you know what I mean by this given that you now have a CS.

Excellent! My only Telecaster is a CS '55 as well.........faded copper paint. I changed the saddles to compensated Callahams and left the rest as it was. Very, very good instrument!

Happy new guitar day.........proceed to wear it out!

I finally took a photo of the Tele with it's K-Line cousin...

I love the color (colour ;)) / shade. And the grain. And the maple tint.

Butterscotch blonde will always be THE Tele finish despite the hazards of getting too yellow or orange but the white blonde has always caught my eye. I bought an EJ Stratocaster with that finish - basically a Mary Kaye with nickel hardware (I'm not into the gold). Sadly, it was quite stiff and a million miles away from the super-playable EJ I already had in black). To this day I don't understand the cause of the differences but I sold the white blonde on. But I always have an eye out for other guitars with that finish.

For some reason I see a lot more Esquires or Esquire-type Partscasters in that finish.

Surely someone has used 'Shop Floor Traveler' as a band name by now?

I had a parts Tele the same color as your Tele and I loved it. It was one of those that got away and I wish I had it back. I'll someday have a CS Tele that color.

Congrats on the CS Tele. Long ago, I restored a '55 Cadillac and Chris Fleming built me a '55 Tele. I painted both the car, and the Tele to match. The guitar was SO nice, that I never took it out and used it.

The car is long gone, but the Tele found a new home last week. The fellow that bought was thrilled to get it, so that eased the pain of letting it go after all these years of owning it.

I hope you enjoy yours as much as I did mine.

Man, that's a great name for a band! Or maybe: "The Shop Floor Travelers"

Fender did usually try to hide the end grain by making the edges more opaque. It was done more emphatically on multi-piece bodies to hide the seams. Yours seems to be one piece and what little I can see of the end grain is quite attractive. I think that the CS made the right choice. It's gorgeous!
