Just got it in the mail today. I've been eyeing these for a couple of years now. The SD D-TAR system sounds very nice. Light as a feather at what can't be more than 6 pounds. Action a little high for my liking but easily fixable. I was worried about the finish looking too much line a clown burst, but it is dark and rich. The Okume has a very basic grain pattern, but at the same time, very 3 dimensional. [IMG][IMG]

Well give use a detailed review.
    Or sound clip.
I have wondered about these myself.
I would only like the style better if it were more natural wood finish.
    Sorta medieval post moderne.

Definitely will divulge more when I get a chance. Sick wife plus 4 kids leaves very little idle time!

The nylon version is just a natural finish.

Sorry for the delayed review. Spent some time with it and wow it's a keeper! The d-tar pickup sounds really good. It came stung with really heavy strings putting way too much relief in the neck. I intend to use it as a fast guitar so I set it up with Martin Marquis 10s. Plays like butter now. It has a 0 nut, which wasnt in the specs but sounds nice open as well as fretted. The most unique thing about it is the sweep of the knobs. Both have about 10 detented presets. I open the tone all the way up to fingerpick and roll back a third to strum. You can strum hard too with the 18v pre with no distortion or clipping! I read an interview with Rick Turner and these have the same pup system as the USA models from his shop.

Glad you like it! I had a Michael Kelly for a long time. It was a great guitar but I liked my fenders better so it stayed in the case. Sold it to a friend of mine and he figured out the very first week he had it that the humbuckers were tapped with push pull puts on the tone and volume.

I had the thing for 12 years and never even knew.
