I was seriously thinking about routing out my favorite partscaster for P90s (because I don't have any P90 guitars) but instead I started looking at just a plain ol' P90 guitar. Well, one thing led to another and this little gem showed up on my doorstep yesterday.

I've owned plenty of LPs in my time, but always set them aside for my Teles because they were either too pretty, or too heavy. This sucker is under 7 lbs and not all dolled up, but man, is it a player! Chunky neck, plek'ed fingerboard and geez, it's got the tone I just need sometimes. This is my first slab-body LP, and I like it because it's kinda Tele-like. Plus yellow is my grandson's favorite color :)

    And that Gibson nitro aroma...

After 45 yrs of playing P90 guitars, I've settled on mahogany bodied Gibson types; Specials, early Customs, etc. I play pretty clean and a P90 in a maple topped LP just has the wrong kinda high end to me. The mahogany just kinda sweetens it a bit and has less of a big attack transient.

    Cool!
I’m seriously considering one of those.

Rick beato has that guitar and says Gibson should focus on producing more of them.

Better than a les imo as a tele guy. Looks amazing. Only Gibson that I've really been struck by as a tele only diehard.

    Tv yellow is slick.

Nice choice! I have a LP special, and that guitar was worth every penny. The P90s bark, bite, and sing like birds.
Congratulations, you got yourself a keeper!

Congrats! That's a beauty. Love the LP Specials and P-90 pickups, and that's my favorite color on a Spcl. or Jr.

Congratulations! I've wanted a good one of those for a long time.
In the 70's I had a double cut one from the 50's. The neck was really wobbly due to the double cut and a short tenon they used for awhile. It was hard not to pull it sharp, lean forward and it would go flat. It was a real heart breaker, so I let it go.
But it lives in my memory as the best sounding guitar I've ever had.
I would seriously love to have one like yours! Happy for you!

    Beautiful!

I'm really hoping to get the ( new line) Epi version of this exact model up the road...

I just LOVE this guitar's looks and features, even though I've never even played one!
( do own a recent Epi SG, dig it!)

Like the idea of the all mahogany/ lighter body, fat neck/ binding, flat top, P-90's, once piece bridge- a LOT of cool stuff!

I've just always had the opinion ( knowing the variety of music I like to play), that an LP Special would just be a 'picnic' to play anything!
