After I posted about the Guitars for Vets program, including links, I went to the link on Reverb where they sell donated guitars to fund their awesome program for veterans with PTSD.

And there was this. And now it’s here. Fralin Blues Special pickups, Wilkinson bridge, locking Sperzel tuners, Ash with no grain filler, nitro finish, with Rosewood board. Sale benefits the program, so, I can forgive myself...I guess.

Shutting up to play more. So far, great! Action can come down a hair but intonation is right.

Well I suppose if you have to justify buying a T as sharp as this one that's a good cause. So good on you for making the donation. Probably can't write that off on your taxes, or can you? That's beautiful. Enjoy.

    Beautiful guitar!
I only know of Logans by what is said here, but folks like @LGOberean sure swear by them. (and several times over in his case ;) )

Yeah, Gil, I'm a believer. I posted in a previous thread by @harpdog that he posted before the guitar arrived.

Speaking of which, harpdog, I'm glad you now have it in hand, and are enjoying it. I don't know if you are aware of it, but there is a club thread for Logan Custom owners. I hope you will post your pics and review there as well.

Found it has a four-way selector...did not know that! Very beefy sound when the pickups are in series!

Cool! I love that feature. Both pickups in series is indeed a beefy option, just how I would describe it. When my amp is set clean, I use that series selection to get a clean boost at the flip of a switch. If the amp is set at the edge of breakup, then flipping the switch up to series lets me go from pretty to gritty (from clean to driven).

I have the 4-way on two of my five Logan teles, these two...

BTW, those two also share three other features besides the 4-way switch: vintage style split shaft tuners; DiMarzio Twang King pickup set; and Bob Logan's stainless steel "straight" base plate.

I noticed that little Gretsch amp, too.

On a separate note, does the tenth commandment include "thy neighbor's Electromatic 5-watter"? Asking for a friend.

No, my son, 5 watters are exempt. The Gretsch is just a Champion 600 in a different skin.

Very nice! Ten years on, my Logan is still the standard by which I judge my other guitars (and any I happen to pick up). I can’t point to any one thing about it that makes it special, but when I play it, I know. It’s the one.

Sweet guitar! Bob makes great instruments. The tele he built for me has been my main axe for years.
