You'd of been a blast in the 'blitz :p
Not trying to flame you, but it's a weird time, we're all going through it and one of the spin offs from it is people are trying to put their free time to use and keep their sanity. It's not the latest social media trend, it's reality. And when it stops being reality it'll be history. Being sick of it isn't changing anything. Anyway, again, not wishing to argue with you.

@IronSchef Trying to follow the design flow, is the treble horn a Strat horn and then the rest of the body is Tele shaped?

Rosser calls it a "hybrid" - I assumed its a Tele shape w/ Strat routings, but maybe that is a "Strat" shaped horn?

There's something just slightly off. I think it's 75% Tele shaped, and then that Strat horn. It's weird, but yet, familiar.

It has to be a Strat horn or the pick guard won't fit properly.

Really interesting build! I like the funky tele-strat-hybrid body shape. The color isn't my cup of tea, but I do enjoy the grain-enhanced colored stains. What are thoe rose pickups like?

Rose pickups are fantastic - I have used Ken's pickups in several builds, ALWAYS amazing!! :)

    I dig it—even the name!

That’s a gorgeous finish...that’s one of the 48 billion reasons I’ve been reluctant to do a home build—finishing or re-finishing a body. I’ve seen so many bad paint jobs, I’m reluctant to take on something I already have no experience doing.

Your finish (and choice of pickguard) is really sweet-looking.

Congrats, and Welcome to the world, COVID the StraTele!

EDIT: Did you have the neck plate made? Who did it?

Ima digging the neck plate, too. Much rather see one of those critters on a neck plate than to stub my toe on one...

Nice work! congrats and thanks for the photos and specs.

Nice. Like the paint job. Just finished mine yesterday and kinda went crazy with the mods. Lol. Here is the mod list.

    Fender roller nut
Wilkinson 3 saddle compensated bridge with brass saddles
Tuning machines from a Fender Starcaster
Fender American Standard 3 way switch
    Fender American Standard jack
    Fender vintage 1meg tone pot
    Fender vintage 1meg volume pot
    DiMarzio True Velvet bridge pickup
    GFS vintage 52 neck pickup
All cavaties are shielded with copper tape
Vintage wax coated push back wiring
Hand wired in the vintage 53 telecaster style
    Treble bleed circuit
Fender Greasebucket circuit from a Highway 1 Telecaster
String trees are in non conventional locations
And finally, I aged and distressed everything by hand.

Just added the pickguard to my Covidcaster build. Had a spare neck lying around so decided to throw this 6.5 lb baby together. 15956924069493029771317057692301.jpg

This is a good time to build a partscaster. Plenty of spare time and if you still have the funds, you can buy "good" parts and have a good time doing. I need another guitar right now like a hole in the head, but I am doing it anyway. I suspect others are in the same mind set.
