Just picked up cheap Korea vers (from nephew)

A real great looker. I don't think i could have built a warmouth that nice looking.

Tiger in the body, birdseye neck material. rosewood. Lil59'er...

Action is high, so I will to have someone look at that.

    nice sound though.

I have the same model. It was my first tele and one of my favorites. It has Seymour Duncan pickups and 22 frets. Really cool guitar.

Wow, that looks really nice. Is it solid Koa or laminate top, or like the old foto-flame?

If it plays nice and has good fit/finish I'd say you got a great guitar. You didn't say what you paid for it (just cheap) but I'd assume you would have $1500+ in it if you built it at Warmoth by the time you got all of the parts in it.

I'm jealous. I thought mine looked good but the one you've got is without a doubt the best looking Koa body I've ever seen. Simply Stunning. These are basically a Koa version of the "Lite Ash Tele" that Fender just re-introduced. I'm thinking there weren't as many of the Koa versions made because they seem to show up far less often the the Ash model. They were made in Korea by "Cort" who makes all of Fenders "Special Editions". They came on the market in 06 and were discontinued in 09 and sold new in the $600-650 range. The pickups are "Duncan Alnico II Pros". They are without a doubt one of my favorite Tele pickups. Congratulations on a great find and a beautiful guitar.

Here are a couple of You Tube vids of a guy doing a pretty good demo with one.

That is a very pretty guitar but moded from the original. The original came a traditional three bridge, sparkle pickguard, and silver control nobs. I like the black pickguard - I'll have to look for one.

Here is mine, not a very good picture I am afraid.

I have one of these and I decided to make it my "country slinger" by adding a hipshot B Bender with a palm G bender and E to D detuner. It's mainly a showpiece when I play out since I suck at fully utilizing the string benders. Some people dedicate a lifetime to perfect that style.

Overall I love the thing with the exception of poor fretting which I still need to file down some sharp edges. On the contrary to most reviewers I don't care for the SD pickups. They sound too "modern" and it gets away from that classic Telecaster sound. I actually think my MIM standard sounds better. I might pick up some Lindy Fralin's or something to really make it sing.

I too used to have one of those...very nice guitars I just couldn't get adjusted to the neck for some reason. It seemed narrower than my others. A looker for sure!
