Just got a mint JV. I've been after a backup Tele to my Custom Shop and something i can take on the road without as many worries. I did buy a Noventa but that realistically wouldn't fit the bill in my covers duo.

Tried it at low volume tonight and it's absolutely glorious. Main differences are the neck slightly flatter and thinner and 9's instead of my usual 10's but i will soon get used to that. Incredible clarity from the pickups, wow. Will crank it tomorrow when i have the house to myself. I'm thinking the backup status may just get reversed.

Photos are deceptive. Its more a soft grey/blue

The annoying geezer weight question, is your JVM tele reasonably light? My JVM Strat is nice and light. (yeah I know don't weigh it, play it).
I know exactly what you mean. I'm 65 and a big part of what i loved with the thinline was its weight. The JV is 3.2 kilo or 7.05lbs. Noticeably heavier and our gig in 2 weeks will be interesting to see how i feel after 4 hours non-stop rocking out. At least its not a 10lb LP....

lovely stuff, and how great that the brilliance of those early Japanese models can now be so respectable that JVs are a thing. Imagine telling this to the first builders, how proud they would be

The JV Modified line is so good. Everything out of Japan recently has just been insane quality. I have a 2020 Boxer reissue Tele, and a ‘22 JV Modified 50’s Strat. Those are my main two gigging guitars. I also have an MIJ Gretsch ‘59 Duo Jet reissue. If I buy more stuff in the future, I’ll probably just go straight for more MIJ stuff.

Congratulations!

Lovely looking guitar, I've always loved that colour scheme ❤️ the anodised scratch plate always looks amazing!
Wow, small world!
My late Aunty lived in Whitianga, Kate Piper, did you know her at all?
