    Bernie & Armin,

Nice guitars! Like Bernie I put my order in in the winter, February.
I was away on buisness so, mine should arrive on April 19th.
I will let you know when it arrives.

Good luck and have fun. Is'nt that the name of the game?

That's it. I gotta start saving for a Custom Shop Tele. The devil is in the details, and so is about 195 lbs/cubic inch of GAS coming on. Great pictures as well, Armin.

    Excellent review and post

Again you are with a large group of non-pro's on this forum and in the same age group also. I would really like to visit New York one day and catch one of Jim's show's.

Have fun with the new axe

Congrats on the guitar!! When I read the article about Jim in Guitar Player awhile back and his description about his Custom Shop model, I thought this would be the one guitar I would love to have. Unfortunately, I didn't order one (and my wife would probably kill me if I had!).

Thanks for posting the pictures and providing us with a well written and descriptive review. I wish you long hours of enjoyment with you new baby.

Thanks for sharing, Bernie! Glad you got your Campy and it seems that it's all you hoped it would be! It really is pretty dang awesome that Jim has been honored with the signature model, he really is a thoroughly good guy. Great description and review...when do we get to hear clips of the Campy in action? :D

Hope you have an exceedingly happy birthday! Seems like you're off to a good start!

Here's a photo of my set-up for a rock gig last Saturday. This picture gives me a warm feeling... :)

Thanks for the kind words and birthday wishes, everyone, much appreciated!

@ Doug 54 - the Fender website states that the radius is 7.25. I really doesn't feel like it though. I don't know how much of a "flattening" effect the big frets have, but it I feels flatter than 7.25, more like a 9.5. I'm not a big fan of 7.25, and wondered how that was going to feel, but the feel of this neck is very much to my liking.

@Tidepoolbay - Big day today - keep us posted!

@ El Reclusa - If I can come up with clips that sound decent, I will, but I reserve the right to not embarrass myself too badly. It's kind of intimidating when Jim's out there with the very same guitar doing what he does with it. It might be kind of depressing...for me(!)

@ Armin - Nice - love the orange Princeton. You have the *total* Campy rig! Edit: Are you set up to bypass the effects and go "straight in" to the PR if you choose?

Bernie, I do not have it set-up with a bypass loop. Actually, that would not be a bad idea.

The thing is that I always play with the overdrive pedal on, which is a Radial ToneBone Trimode. I use the guitar's volume to adjust the level of dirtiness I want.

Jim truly is a sweetheart of a person. he was kind enough to sign the back of my RW when he came to do a clinic in Pgh. there is no finer person to deserve a signature Tele.

congrats to you both on your guitars!

    Great score! Looks beautiful.

Some of the signature models by Fender lately have not made a lot of sense. This one sure does. Nice guitar.

    just incredible.

the main reason i love Fender is they do sig models of artists like campilonglo, lee renaldo, thurston moore, j mascis and elvis costello.

what other major guitar manufacturer has such respect for REAL musicians?
