I presume it would already be set up pretty sweet: who bought an fsr by accident/reversed the control plate? I would expect previous owner knew what they were doing hence it playing right day 1

I bought a Jaguar bass dirt cheap as it had a backbow in it: everything buzzed even with limbo high action. Released truss rod and sold it on for £200 more to first person who played it, because it was great. I expect your seller got it spot on as well

I have a preference in my set ups, everyone does, but it did come set up from fender, got it new.
    Control plate comes like that.

Wonderful Tele! Congrats. I'm really impressed with how nice the MIM Teles are. Great guitars.

What pickups are in that Tele?

Fender is reversing the plate on some models lately.

Now, if they would only make 4-way switching standard, we would be in business.

My Blacktop HH has the switch at the back of the guitar, which I have never been thrilled about. I can work with it, though, especially if changed to a Les Paul-style toggle switch, which I find much easier to operate.

That's a really nice one. Congratulations.
I've been thinking about finding one and having a tech install a humbucker in the neck position.
    Enjoy!

I’m assuming these are reversed plates with tone and vol flopped as well.

Sounds like they are the same pickups as in the MIM Tele Standard.

By “black undertones” do you mean the darker character of the neck pickup?

I have the same pickups in my Tele Standard, which I think does sound good, slightly veiled with respect to articulation relative to some other options, but they have a sweet, warm tone.
