Hello to all ...
Just arrived my new Ibanez AS93FM-VLS .... loving it.
Only one in the country so dealer had to have it sent straight from Headstock warehouse.
Setup out of the box (ie as it left the factory last Nov.) was spot-on and tuning was all 1/4 down - as it should have been and body and neck finishes are immaculate.
Really rate Ibanez Made in Indonesia QC on this.

Why this guitar ... well, apart from it being a bueat. .... there comes an age when you either suddenly find yourself drawn to Country or Jazz ... bless the guitar Gods for steering me towards Jazz ;)
Did think about the AG95 (that I was able to try out), but am really glad I stuck with '335' style.Slightly smaller than my Casino and very comfortable, great neck and loving the pickups ... some incarnation of their renowned Super 58s.

So, along with the move towards Jazz, the Orange Rocker's gone and the 40W Champion does very nicely at home, Tuesday nights (really just jamming with old friends now, who I hope to push towards some Jazz standards along with all the usual rock/indie stuff) is now DI from my pedalboard.
(PS. as you all know - the Tele does a mean Jazz sound too)

Here's the pic:

Looks beautiful! Pat Martino and Ed Bickert have inspired me for a long time, and I’ve heard the name Tal Farlow many times over the years, but just now started to listen, so I’m right there with you in the jazz journey! I’ve got a cherry red grote jazz box that’s been heavily modified.
That neck pickup sound good?

Thanks for all the above and ... yes, the neck pickup is the great, giving a nice warm sound even before rolling off the tone.
Now then - is it the best .... you know what I still think the AV64 neck pickup is the best I've ever had/played ... that based on nearly 60 years of playing now!
Speaking of which .... looks like the AV64 photo-bombed the Ibby 😀

I’ve been a big Ibanez fan since the early 70’s. I’ve owned many over the years and still own a couple. I’m sure you will enjoy yours, it’s a a looker that’s for sure.
